A - kon is an anime convention that first got started on July 28 - 29, 1990 at the Richardson Hilton hotel in Richardson, Texas.  Today, it has grown to be the longest running anime convention in all of North America without having missed a single year of operation!  That's quite a feat.

A - kon takes place at the Irving Convention Center.
